Exchange files between your local computer and
the VRLab
To have a
remote logon to the VRLab you might use PuTTY to set up an SSH connection.
When running an experiment in DALES it is nice to be able to put your own data via
PuTTY in the VRLab and extracting it after the experiment has run.
There is a
very convenient program to do so, called WinSCP (https://winscp.net/eng/download.php).
Its main function is file transfer between a local and a remote computer.
Once you
downloaded WinSCP you can open a new session. Fill in
“bastion-grs.vrlab.tudelft.nl” at Host name, and use your normal username and
password for the VRLab.
At the left side you now see your local
directory and at the right the remote one.
It might be that the directory you
want to go is not visible. However if you click on the icon on the right side
of the bar that shows the current folder on the remote computer, or use Ctrl+O,
you can type the directory that you want.
You can just drag files from one side to the other, or when having to
transfer multiple files you can also you synchronise (top left corner or use
Ctrl+S). In the pop-up window you can chose in which direction the transfer
will occure, etc.
